Probate Forms

There are dozens of probate forms that may be required for even a simple estate. Government websites for each state often make these blank forms available online. The petition for probate and appointment of a personal administrator (executor) is one of the first forms needed. A notice of hearing for the probate proceedings must also be sent to all affected parties. Some jurisdictions have forms for publishing a death notice. This publication may be required when the mailing address of one or more potential heirs cannot be located.

Each step of the administrative process also necessitates the use of the appropriate probate forms. These can be used to create a list of all assets in the estate, record any debts that were paid, and notify the court of any other actions taken regarding the decedent's assets. Interested parties may also use probate forms to petition the court for specific actions or to offer testimony on any matters relating to the estate. Attorneys and personal administrators can also use forms to request payment for their services.
