Taking Care of Estate Property

As executor, your job isn't to take the deceased person's assets and develop a long-term management or investment strategy. Instead, you need to keep all the property in the estate, from investment accounts to heirlooms to cars, safe and sound until you can hand the assets over to the people who inherit them.

Your duties will probably last at least a few months, and possibly a year or more. But once you've secured everything, you may not have too many ongoing tasks.
